Holiday Magic at Trsat Castle

Like every year, Christmas has arrived to my beloved Rijeka. Unlike every year, however, one of Rijeka’s main touristic sights, the Trsat Castle, this year got a new sparkly holiday makeover and brought even more holiday cheer to people of Rijeka and their visitors. Yesterday I got the chance to visit the Trsat castle in the evening and was completely stunned by how fairy-tale like it looks! Continue reading “Holiday Magic at Trsat Castle”

Farewell, 2015!

The year 2015 is coming to an end. It passed so quickly and, looking back, I feel free to conclude that it was a really good year, full of beautiful, memorable trips and experiences, things big and small that made me happy and thankful, that changed the way I see the world and people around me for the better. Holiday Season in Rijeka and Graz

With the arrival of the holiday season, the mood instantly changes. It becomes more elevated, more nervous at times because there is so many things to do, so many presents to buy, cakes and cookies to bake and visits to plan, but also more cheerful as you keep hearing holiday songs on the radio and you see the towns put on their most festive apparel and are full of lights, decorations and smell of mulled wine.

I found my love in Portofino, and my joy in Santa Margherita Ligure

Driving in Italy is not for the faint-hearted. Driving down Strada Stradale 227, the road that connects Portofino with Santa Margherita Ligure and other parts of Liguria, might just be the most tense, Bond-like drive you will ever take in your life. „La Superba“, Pt. 2: Falling In Love with Mediterranean Ports and Palm Trees

Seeing the area for the first time this summer, I couldn’t imagine that there was time when walking around the port was a dangerous endeavor. On the contrary: for me, the city port was the experience that made me fall hopelessly in love with Genova, its sun, its sea, the light breeze and palms… Continue reading “„La Superba“, Pt. 2: Falling In Love with Mediterranean Ports and Palm Trees”

J’aime flâner sur les grands boulevards

Parisian boulevards are the epitome of the rich and exclusive French lifestyle and walking down them allows you to experience yet another face of the complex city: one of wealth, luxury and good life. Wide streets milling with people, both elegant Parisian locals going around their usual daily business and fascinated tourists walking around and standing in awe in front of world famous Parisian cultural centers and department stores. Rijeka: Ode to the Hometown

It’s been raining a lot in my home time lately, and we’ve all gotten quite used to the grayness, dampness and puddles which are so usual in Rijeka during the winter season. Which is why today’s sunny weather brought smiles and good mood to the entire town. It’s been a really beautiful, sunny day, perfect for spending time in the city centre, hanging out with your friends and enjoying cakes and coffee in one of the cafés. This morning, it seemed as if all people of Rijeka came out to soak up the sun, and the centre was full of casual passers-by, cute children and adorable pets.
